HCI Introduces New 22” LCD TVs for Healthcare Facilities

Cincinnati, Oh., October 16, 2009 – HCI, provider of healthcare grade televisions and patient infotainment systems announced today the addition of three new 22” televisions to its product line. HCI is adding: 22” Internet Protocol television (IPTV), 22” Digital television, and 22” Digital television with built-in DVD player
to its family of LCD televisions.

The new 22” Internet Protocol television (IPTV) features built-in media player capabilities for patients, staff, and visitors to share movies, music, and pictures. Built-in thin client capabilities can allow patients to access the internet without any extra equipment in the patient room; used in conjunction with HCI’s InnovaTV Patient Portal, patients gain access to surveys, gift shop, and food ordering. The Ethernet-ready 22” IPTV is designed to exist on a network for file sharing via HCI MediaLink or HCI MediaCare software. The 22” IPTV is fully upgradeable and features keypad, pillow speaker, remote, and computer integration.

The new 22” digital television contains many features of HCI existing family of televisions, such rounded corners for patient safety and USB clone capabilities. Designed for multi-audience use, the 16:9 widescreen television delivers a bright, crisp display. The new 22” digital television with built-in DVD player also offers media player capabilities for patient enjoyment.

While very inexpensive, the TN panels give up color accuracy and viewing angle to the point where their application to the patient room was inappropriate. Bright, crisp and with 178 degree viewing angles, the 22” size is now capable of providing a satisfying patient experience.”
