MediaCare from HCI offers a range of customizable options for a better patient experience. First, a primer: All smartphones, tablets, and even most “Smart TVs” have software that serves as the Home Screen, a familiar starting point for users to begin activities or return to when completing them. That’s where MediaCare comes in.

A Closed Loop of Patient-Centered Care

HCI created its own Home Screen with MediaCare, designed and developed to support both patients and healthcare providers. MediaCare is HCI’s enterprise-wide integration software, which can be updated remotely from a single IT department or data center, and ties into hospital Nurse Call, RTLS and EHR systems to display apps and patient data on our Digital Whiteboards and Interactive Modules with CareApps on our interactive TVs for a closed loop of patient-centered care. MediaCare is powered by and utilizes the Android© Operating System, a set of principles and functionalities built to create a more user-friendly experience when navigating and using Android Apps. This allows us to offer an array of patient apps to support patient engagement, education and entertainment for a better experience while hospitalized.

Easy to Use and Customize with Reporting Analysis

With features like the “Context Row” and rectangular App “Banners”, MediaCare provides more options tailored for the hospital or healthcare provider. These options include things like setting the App Banners to be split into separate groups and to ignore or prioritize app recommendations within the Context Row. Other differences tailored for healthcare facilities include a header at the top that includes customizable pre-built modules, the ability to change the wallpaper image, and a secure Admin page that prevents patients or unauthorized staff from changing any of the settings. MediaCare offers detailed reporting so providers can monitor app usage for more informed fiscal and human resource management.

Customized Branding

MediaCare was designed with Setup and customization to be performed with an HCI remote, eliminating any need to connect to a HCI, MediaCare, branding, patient support, interactive whiteboard, digital whiteboard, electronic whiteboard, interactive tv, hospital whiteboard, hospital tv, HCI tv, patient engagementmouse and keyboard. Everything from adding apps to the home screen, changing the wallpaper, and customizing app banner color and icon are all easily set using the HCI remote.

The customization options available with MediaCare and Android apps don’t stop at the Home Screen. HCI’s CareApps have been designed to feature large banners for available media content, customizable for different categories. When a patient selects a video or audio banner that interests them, MediaCare opens a detailed view providing a description and runtime. All CareApps on MediaCare have a built-in Search function, making it easier for a patient to find exactly what they want for better patient support and health literacy.
