Float iPad Door Sign
An 11 inch iPad becomes the door sign. The enclosure hides the iPad's own bezel, the room plate carries raised numerals and braille, and a halo of light washes the wall in your hospital's color, then turns amber when the patient calls.
Start from one of four Sample Health styles, then color the case, the plate and the numbers, pick a plate design, and add your logo. The drawing of your door updates as you go.
The plate and the numbers are close in color. Raised numbers read best light on dark or dark on light.
Pricing comes from the HCI partner who covers your state. Room plates are printed per room from your room list.
Read the room from down the hall.
118 RGB LEDs behind a clear rim light the wall all the way round the edge. The HCI ONE server sets the color from the same nurse call and location feeds that run the rest of the room.
Four parts. One screw.
- Back housingClear printed back with the LEDs, the PoE splitter and the light controller inside. It hangs on a hanger plate on the single gang box.
- iPad (A16)Ethernet and power arrive on one USB C cable. Runs the HCI ONE door sign in single app mode, with the 80% charge limit on.
- BezelOne printed piece. The window matches the display, so none of the iPad's black bezel shows. It clips onto the back housing, and one security screw from below locks the sign to the wall.
- Room plateRaised 1 inch numerals with Grade 2 braille below. Plates swap without reprinting the bezel.
Three plates. The same bezel.
Each plate prints in three colors, with the numerals and braille raised 1 mm. The HCI ONE mark is flush, so fingers find only the number and the braille.
It floats. The wall does the rest.

What it needs from your network.
- A single gang box beside each door, with one PoE+ drop ending in it.
- 802.3at switch ports; passive 24 V injectors will not power it.
- The halo controller on your IoT VLAN, reachable by the HCI ONE server.
- iPads enrolled in your MDM, or in Engine, and locked to the door sign app.
The rest of the room.
Float shows the same care team, precautions and room state as the whiteboard inside. One release, the same day, on every screen.
